FULL
TIME EMPLOYMENT
KMR Communications, Inc offers
career opportunities at the Junior and Senior Account
level. Account executives must have previous experience
in the beauty, health and fitness sectors of public
relations. We will not give attention to those who
do not possess previous PR agency experience. Applicants
must be able to demonstrate the ability to write
concise and well-honed press releases. We also ask
that those applying for positions at the Senior
A/E level be able to provide us with portfolios
showing examples of media coverage they have obtained
during previous employment. All account executives
handle four clients simultaneously. They are responsible
for brainstorming and researching ideas for a campaign,
interviewing clients for press releases, pitching
stories to the media, updating clients weekly with
written reports, obtaining copies for clients when
media placements become available, supervision of
interns, and of paramount importance, securing consistent
and quality media coverage for each client they
are assigned. In addition, account executives are
expected to arrange editorial desk sides when appropriate,
compile press kits and presentations, and accompany
clients to media appearances and other activities
which would necessitate the presence of a publicist.
A/Es are also asked to participate in new business
meetings.
KMR seeks those who are self-motivated and can function
as team players. The management of KMR has sought
to foster a family like atmosphere where sharing
of ideas and ways to enhance our overall function
is encouraged. Those considering applying for employment
must have a four year college degree and possess
excellent written and verbal skills as well as the
ability to multi-task and interface with people
via phone and in person. Junior account executives
must have 2 years of related public relations experience
while senior account executives possess four years
minimum.
All account executives have the opportunity to procure
new business for the firm. Each A/E will receive
financial compensation for any account they secure
for as long as the employee and client remain with
the firm. We believe that this incentive gives each
staff member financial opportunities that do not
exist at every public relations firm as well as
the feeling that they have stock in the company.

INTERNS
Those who are in their sophomore, junior or senior
year may apply for internships at KMR. The management of KMR will work with
a school liaison if course credit is being given
in order to insure that an intern is in compliance
with school requirements. Interns have a unique
opportunity at KMR to gain a solid foundation which
will provide the tools necessary to pursue public
relations as a career. The management and staff
view interns as an important component of our firm.
Those who demonstrate great ability will be given
more advanced projects and responsibility. Interns
work alongside account executives and have the opportunity
to deal with a broad range of the media and truly
learn PR writing and pitching strategy as well as
gain a firm grasp of the beauty and health industries.
Internships are available for mature college students
who desire a future in public relations. For graduating
seniors who have interned with us, there does exist
the possibility of full time employment upon graduation.
Interns also have the opportunity to procure new
business for the firm and receive compensation.
Journalism or communications majors are preferred.
Applicants must be extremely articulate, well read,
organized, and motivated. The best times to apply
for internships are the following: May for the Summer
Semester, August for the Fall Semester, and December
for the Spring Semester.
